Social Workshops for Social Skills
Strong social skills are essential for building friendships, managing emotions, and participating confidently in everyday life. However, many children and teenagers find social interactions challenging. As a result, they may experience anxiety, isolation, or difficulty forming meaningful relationships.
At Freedom Therapy Services, our Social Workshops are designed to provide structured, evidence-based support for individuals who need extra guidance developing social and emotional skills. Rather than relying on unstructured play alone, our programs intentionally teach, practise, and reinforce skills in real-life situations. Sessions are engaging, supportive, and tailored to each participant’s unique needs.
Our workshops may complement our Behaviour Support and Psychology services:

Why Are Social Skills Important?
Social skills influence almost every area of a child or teenager’s development. From early childhood through adolescence, these skills support learning, wellbeing, and independence. Without adequate support, difficulties in this area can impact confidence, academic engagement, and mental health.
Strong social skills help individuals to:
- Communicate thoughts and feelings effectively
- Understand social cues and body language
- Build and maintain friendships
- Manage conflict and problem-solve
- Regulate emotions in challenging situations
- Participate successfully in group activities
Furthermore, these skills form the foundation for future success in education, employment, and community participation.
Who Are Our Social Workshops For?
Our Social Workshops are suitable for children, teenagers, and young adults who may benefit from targeted social skills support. In particular, they are helpful for individuals who:
- Have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Have ADHD
- Experience anxiety or social withdrawal
- Have learning or developmental differences
- Struggle with peer relationships
- Find group environments overwhelming
Participants receive support in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where they feel valued and understood.
